The Taipei 101 skyscraper is not just one of the tallest buildings in the world, but it’s also a technological marvel. Standing at a height of 508 meters and known as one of the most striking landmarks in Taiwan, the colossal structure is a beacon of progress and innovation. Completed in 2004 with architectural features borrowed from both Eastern and Western traditions, Taipei 101 boasts several major technological achievements. One of the most impressive is its express elevator system, which has been certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest in the world. Another amazing attribute of the building is its 660-ton wind damper, the largest in the world.

The 12th Taipei Manufacturing Technology Show (MTduo),jointly held by TAITRA and TAMI, took place from May 5th to 8th at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1. Exhibitors at the four-day Taipei Multimedia Show, set to kick off on Friday, will be showcasing an array of intriguing technological products, such as a lifelike electronic frilled-neck lizard, electric toy cars with no batteries, and an electric scooter that can run up to 20 to 30 kilometers on one charge. Upon first glance, this frilled-neck lizard could be mistaken for the real thing. But in actuality, it’s a simulation developed by a Taiwanese technology company. Using infrared sensor technology, the lifelike reptile can detect motion.Another attention-grabbing product at the show is the four-wheel drive electric toy car.
